James A. ("Big Jim") Connelly

James A. Connelly, Sr. (Big Jim), age 73 of Melbourn, FL, previously of Verona passed away on Thursday January 19, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.  Much loved father of James (Lisa) Connelly and the late Sarah Connelly.  Beloved son of the late Arthur and Lorraine Connelly.  Dear brother of Thomas, Maureen Macquire, Richard, Elaine (Jim) Wolfe, Anita Madden, Keith, Kevin, Patrick and the late Gerald Connelly and Linda Maydak; also many nieces and nephews.  Jim worked for the Union Railroad for 42 years becoming a yard master in 1976  until retirement in 2010.  He was on the Board of Directors for the URE Credit Union for 18 years.  He loved nothing more than riding his Harley with his family and friends.  He toured across the country and many foreign countries on his Harley.  He was always  Robe “in” for a motorcycle adventure.  There will be no viewing or service.  A Memorial Bike Run is being planned in Pennsylvania at a later date.  Big Jim did life his way, “May he fly like an Eagle."
