Richard M. ("Buzzy") Toomey

Richard M. “Buzzy” Toomey, 73, of Braddock Hills passed away suddenly on Friday September 8, 2023.  He was born in Braddock to the late Richard and Vivian “Pat” (Funk) Toomey.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Daniel Toomey, sister-in-law Nancy Toomey; the mother of his youngest daughter (Gabby) Maria Martino and his wife Jill (O’Masta)  Toomey.  Buzzy is survived by his children Kiersten (Bill) Gibbons, Danielle (Dave) Emerick, Richard (Nina) Toomey, “Just Mike” and Gabrielle (Ryan) Pecoraro; his sisters Marilyn (Paul) Pazehoski and Susie (Ron) Perrin; his first wife Michaelene Toomey; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  Rich proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era receiving several accommodations.  He retired several years ago after working over 40 years at US Steel Edgar Thompson.    His greatest passion was spending most of his spare time in his garage fabricating his latest creation.  Family and friends will be received from 4-7 on THURSDAY September 14th at the Robert P.
