Rose Maticic Speranza, 92, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away September 3, 2021. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and resided there until moving to Jacksonville in 2003.
Rose will be remembered for her sense of humor and fun-loving nature. She loved to dance, especially to the music of Slovenian polka bands at clubs in the Pittsburgh area. Rose always stepped out on the town as a fashionista, whether it be to see a movie, go out to lunch with friends, or to the mall to add to her already overflowing wardrobe. She never missed an opportunity to engage in conversation. Rose brightened the days of everyone she met.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Keith) Brinker, of Jacksonville, her grandson, Justin Brinker, of Chicago, the light of her life; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Speranza; her husband of 30 years, Frank Maticic; sister Mary Pieszak; and sister Frances Staresinic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Road. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be at 10:30 on Friday, September 10th in the CHAPEL of All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery. 1560 Brinton Road, Braddock Hills.
